Dear Sir
I was most disappointed by David Warburton’s reply to Scott Ward’s letter in the last edition of the Frome Times. I found it quite depressing that he began with dismissing the Labour Party motion as of no consequence. To produce a party reaction to an opposition motion is incomprehensible given the situation the country is in. Surely we all need to work together to combat the current pandemic.
Despite the huge majority that the Conservative Party has at the moment it really needs to be ready to listen to the country. It is a party that is prepared to squander 12bn on private companies which have failed to effectively run a test and trace system without listening to local health providers, yet it is unwilling to spend 125 million on providing free school meals apparently because it has been put forward by those outside the ruling clique.
Mick Randall,
Frome.
