The three Rotary Clubs in Frome have organised a “Best Garden in Frome and District” competition and are calling on adults and children to send photographs of their gardens, or even a window box, to take part.
Rotary in Frome say, “With Frome Festival and Hidden Gardens cancelled and Frome Show cancelled, it was thought this would be a good idea to allow Frome to show off the work they would have been doing in their gardens during lockdown.
“It is also good for the three Rotary Clubs to be able to work together and raise some funds for POD and Wessex Counselling.”
The competition has two categories for adults and children under 16. The entry fee is £5 per adult and £2 per child. Proceeds are for POD and Wessex Counselling, plus other charitable causes supported by the Rotary Clubs in Frome.
They say, “Gardens can be large or small, we just need you to submit up to three recent photos of your garden display by email to rotary.bestgarden20@gmail.com or www.WeTransfer
The closing date is 14th September.
“So come on people of Frome, get your gardening gloves on and enter the “Rotary Best Garden in Frome”. A cup will be presented to the winner plus a framed photograph of your entry. Children, show us what you can do with your patch of garden or even a window box. The winner will receive a £50 garden voucher plus a framed photograph of your entry.”
