Patients at the Frome Medical Practice now have the benefit of a new portable electrocardiogram (ECG) machine, thanks to the generosity of a local business.
The new ECG was bought using money raised by local people and a donation from Corsley-based technical support firm Talk Me Through It (TMTI).
Lead nurse at the practice Elaine Keene said, “We identified the need for a new portable ECG machine that could be used anywhere in the building.
“One of our receptionists, Ali Grey, had already done fantastic work in starting to collect funds for the purchase.
“We were then extremely fortunate to hear from one of our health care assistants, Norah Philips, that her son-in-law’s company were interested in donating towards new equipment.”
Norah’s son-in-law is Crispin Thomas, the founder and chairman of TMTI. Crispin said, “Every year my company supports and makes a donation to a local good cause. I learned from Norah of the need for a new portable ECG machine and my company is delighted to have been able to make a donation to the Friends of Frome Hospital who helped make the purchase possible. Hopefully many patients will now benefit.”
Elaine continued, “A big thank you to everyone who has helped to make this possible, including Ali and her colleagues, the Friends and especially to Crispin Thomas and everyone at TMTI.”
