A NEW course to empower more women to navigate the world of self-employment is due to start next month, organised by Edventure.
The course entitled Enterprising Women will run at the Edventure Hub based at Welshmill, once week from Wednesday 21st February.
A member of the Edventure team, Colin Atkinson said, “In an era marked by the rise of women working for themselves – in 2022 more UK businesses were founded by women than ever before according to the latest Rose Report – Edventure is introducing its newest course designed to empower even more women to navigate the world of self-employment.
“No matter their age, background or stage in life, aspiring women seeking or starting to turn their ideas into reality are invited to enroll onto this in-person programme that goes beyond traditional learning.
“Enterprising Women is not just a course; it’s a hands-on journey for women to work on their own ideas or projects. Supported by experienced facilitators, participants engage in a creative and dynamic design process to develop their ideas before choosing what tasks to focus their energy on: launching pop-up events, developing real world prototypes, or crafting business plans, for example.
“Participants decide which guest speakers are invited in; it could be local female founders, finance experts, or marketing professionals and the programme prioritises peer to peer learning within the group, providing individuals with valuable insights and support.
“Edventure’s track record showcases real-world impact through projects like Frome’s Library of Things and community fridge, both firsts in the UK, highlighting the power of experiential learning.”
An alumni of Edventure’s long running start-up course, Lily said, “Many of the skills I learnt during my time with Edventure had a direct impact on my ability to confidently move forward into setting up my own project.”
Past Edventure student, Camilla said, “I joined Edventure because I wanted an education that really helps me find what I love to do and that teaches me about life. Edventure gave me a blank canvas to experiment on [and] to recognise what is truly right for me.”
Enterprising Women is an invitation to join a community of women making a positive impact through entrepreneurship. Passionate individuals looking to create change, unlock their potential, and be part of an empowering initiative can find out more at www.edventurefrome.org/start-up
