Post-punk and post-classic rock band, Big Country, are bringing their 35th anniversary tour to the Cheese & Grain later this month.
The band will be playing their stunning catalogue of songs, taken from their multi-million selling and Number 1 hit albums. Their classic hits and live favourites include Harvest Home – Fields of Fire – In A Big Country (which sold 2 million copies) – Chance – Wonderland – Look Away – The Teacher – East of Eden’ from such massive albums such as the triple Grammy-nominated, ‘The Crossing,’ ‘Steeltown’ and ‘Peace In Our Time’.
Big Country released their debut album, ‘The Crossing’, on 15th July 1983. It was arguably what the record-buying public worldwide view as the definitive sound and songs of one of the most exciting post-punk and post-classic rock bands of all time. ‘The Crossing’ reached Number 4 in the UK album chart, remaining in the chart for a phenomenal 81 weeks. It also reached Number 4 in Canada and Number 18 in the USA Billboard 200, 11 in The Netherlands, Number 18 in Sweden and Number 8 in New Zealand – eventually being certified Platinum in both the UK and Canada.
