The Mayor of Frome, Toby Eliot, is calling all artists, both professional and amateur, who are aged 16 years and over to design the Town Council’s Christmas card, which will be sent out to neighbouring parishes as well as many organisations in town and beyond.
Toby said, “The design can be anything as long as it covers the themes of Frome and Christmas. I’ll be looking for the design that shows the most creativity and I’m hoping to choose something really different so let your imagination run wild! The only proviso is that the design must be able to be reproduced onto a card.
“In the past the mayor has run a Christmas card competition for children, but this year a children’s competition has been organised by a local charity and we didn’t want to tread on their toes. Also, this give us the opportunity to open up the competition to everyone who wouldn’t normally have a chance to design the town’s official card.”
Closing date for entries is 5pm on 3rd October and winners will be announced 10th October. The winning design will feature on the front page of the Frome Christmas Programme; runners up will be featured within the publication.
