SOLD out in just over an hour, Fatboy Slim has been announced as the Cheese & Grain’s headline act to celebrate their 20th anniversary, with an intimate two-hour set on Friday 14th September.
As part of the Cheese & Grain’s 20th Anniversary programme of events (running from September-December), the venue was chosen for the special one-off show with iconic DJ/producer and national treasure Fatboy Slim.
Frome Times was given the scoop to be the first to announce the news online on Friday 29th August at 7pm, with tickets going live online from 8pm – and sold out in just an hour and a half.
The Cheese & Grain said it was pleased that over 60% of the tickets purchased were by people in the BA11 postcode, and over 85% of all sales were to households within a 10- mile radius of the Cheese & Grain.
There was huge interest following the announcement and a waiting list was set up for those who were not lucky enough to grab tickets.
Fatboy Slim, who is one of the most legendary figures ever to grace the decks, will be playing a special two hour set in the intimate setting of the Cheese & Grain on Friday 14th September.
With three decades of DJ excellence under his belt, Norman Cook was instrumental in bringing dance music to the masses with his formidable arsenal of feel-good house that helped shape the face of club culture as we know it today. Normally only seen in the area amazing crowds at Glastonbury Festival, this is a chance to see the man up close and personal.
As a continued thank you to the local community for their support of the Cheese & Grain over the last 20 years, tickets were made available to those within Frome and surrounding area postcodes only, on a first-come first-served basis. Tickets for this show were also set low in price, at just £15, to try and ensure access for all.
This event is a fundraising event for the Cheese & Grain charity and is part of the venue’s cultural programme.
