THIS year’s winner of the Frome Festival Treasure Hunt has been announced as local women Marilyn Sims.
Presenting the prize was chairman of the festival trustees, Dr Bob Morris who said, “From 57 entrants in this year’s hunt, the winner is Marilyn Sims and it is a pleasure to give her this pendant which she has triumphantly earned.
“For two reasons, it is particularly fitting that this prize is being presented beside Studio Prints: this was the 36th and final answer to the quiz, and Studio Prints is one of the Festival’s most supportive sponsors.
“Thanks are due to David Chedgy of Frome Wessex Camera Club and Paul Hewitt, quizmaster extraordinary for devising and organising the Hunt, to Black Ink design and Frome Printing Company for producing the leaflets and Frome Information Centre, Ellenbray and the Cheese and Grain box office for selling them. Special thanks go to local goldsmith and much admired designer Annette p 1, who yet again has produced a splendid piece as the prize. The Festival is greatly indebted for Annette’s generosity.”
