A local arts collective is celebrating one year of presenting a variety of art forms at the RISE Gallery on Whittox Lane.
To mark the anniversary, the group is holding a Christmas Market from Saturday 29th November to Sunday 7th December at the gallery. They are also inviting guest artists from Frome and surrounding areas to showcase their work.
Initially opening as a pop-up, the group of eight local artists has grown from strength to strength and now operates permanently from their shop and elevated gallery space in RISE.
The collective is made up of local artists Amy Yates, Emma Le Lohe, Julia Blaker, Kerry Munden Starr, Liza Saunders, Rose Hunter, Sarah Truscott and Sue Willis. They present a wide range of artistic disciplines, covering fine art, textiles, mosaic art, screen printing, lino printing, silk paintings and cards, and are committed to offering something to suit every taste and budget.
Sue said, “With community at the heart of our venture, the group are looking to welcome guest artists – particularly new and emerging artists – from Frome and the surrounding areas, providing a chance to showcase their work and share in the friendly and inclusive art scene that Frome has to offer.
“The market will be supported by the team at the Rye Bakery Café, with a delicious menu and drinks to help warm and restore, and together create a wonderful space to shop, eat and drink.”
