DUE to the continuing demand placed on the local food banks, Frome is still struggling to cope. Fair Frome Food Bank is asking for Christmas food to be donated urgently.
Wendy Miller-Williams, coordinator at Fair Frome said, “The urgent food needs are: Mince pies and fancy biscuits, selection boxes and chocolates, tinned salmon, ham, fruit and custard, Pringles, crackers for cheese and Christmas crackers.
“We are often asked for formula milk and nappies too, so donations of these would also be most welcome. There are food collection boxes in Asda, Sainsbury’s, Frome Funeral Care at Badcox, Barnardos, Frome Whole Foods, Westway Co-op, and Tesco Express.
“All donations of non-perishable packet and tinned goods are very welcome, for example, instant snacks, tinned meat, tinned vegetables and tinned fruit, cereals, coffee, tea, rice sauces and pasta sauces.”
