Students and staff who attended Critchill School in the early 2000s are set to come together at a school reunion.
Former student Heidi Hughes, who attended Critchill School 19 years ago, has been working with former headteacher Mr Rowsell to organise the reunion, which is due to be held at The Masons Arms from 12pm to 3pm on Saturday 13th September.
“We all grew to respect Mr Rowsell and all the other staff,” said Heidi. “All the staff had time for the students and gave much more time and care than might be expected. We always felt welcomed. We were all one big happy family.”
Critchill School is based on Nunney Road and provides education for children with additional learning needs.
Heidi said, “I wanted to hold the reunion to prove to the world that people with special needs can achieve things. I was a student there 19 years ago and I didn’t have the complex needs that some of them did, so I just want the whole world to know that people can achieve things.”
A buffet will be available at the reunion, costing £13.95, or people are welcome to just attend.
