TEAM members from local specialist dementia care provider, Frome Nursing Home, have been spearheading fundraising for World Alzheimer’s Day.
Nearly 50 million people globally are estimated to be living with dementia and this is predicted to triple in the next 20 years.
Over 15 team members of Frome Nursing Home took part in a memory walk in Bristol recently, to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Frome Nursing Home’s manager, Maggie Rhodes said, “This is a great opportunity to bring awareness to the struggles of those living with dementia. We specialize in dementia care and residential care, here at Frome Nursing Home, and so this cause is very close to our hearts and something we are all very passionate about.”
The home looks after 60 elderly people “our family members” many of whom live with dementia. Frome Nursing Home has recently implemented a pioneering model of care which is enabling better outcomes for them.
Maggie added, “We hope by joining in community events such as these, we can help more and more people understand the kind of dementia care we provide. We’re keen to hear from anyone who might like to learn more about our model of dementia care, as well as local care teams and nurses.
“We’ll be offering free training to help to educate more people about dementia, so if you’d like to find out more, email info@ fromenursinghome.com or call 01373 468 020.”
