FIRST Bus is hosting a free travel day on the D2 and D2X services all day on Thursday 1st June.
Travel to Bath and back to Frome, and anywhere else in between, is free all day – travellers can just turn up and travel from 4:30am until the last bus service of the day. No tickets, vouchers or codes are needed, simply hop on the bus.
Mayor of Frome and bus campaigner, Philip Campagna said, “This an excellent initiative by First Bus with the aim to encourage more people to experience a bus journey to and from Bath. This should encourage more people to visit or discover Frome.”
Following a long-standing campaign to encourage bus usage and to get the bus services needed for the Frome community, co-ordinator of FAVBUG, Peter Travis said, “First Bus are doing this as there has been so much support from Frome Town Council, Rode Parish Church and FAVBUG.”
That’s not the only good bus news this week, the government have announced that the £2 flat single bus fare has now been extended again until the end of October. For more information on bus services in and around Frome, visit www.frometowncouncil. gov.uk/transport
