FROME Friends of Palestine will be hosting a meeting, followed by an illustrated talk by the Rev. Rowena Francis on Thursday 17th November at the Cheese and Grain cafe from 6pm.
Lead members of the group will be hosting the session, a ‘meet and greet’ to introduce both past attendees and interested members of the public to current issues in the ongoing problems in reaching a peace settlement between Israel and Palestine.
Rowena Francis will speak about the current situation in the village of Kissan near Bethlehem and the impact of the occupation on the community.
This will be based on her experience of living in Bethlehem during the summer as an Ecumenical Accompanier and human rights monitor with EAPPI (Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel) of the World Council of Churches.
Light refreshments provided, and drinks available from the bar.
