From Dawn to Dusk at Frome lunchtime concert

An afternoon of live classical music will be held at Christ Church, Frome, next month as Bath-based Trio Paradis continues its regular series of lunchtime café concerts on first Thursdays.

The next performance, on Thursday 1st October at 1.15pm, is titled ‘From Dawn to Dusk’ and is a collection of music inspired by morning and evening moods, including ‘Circulo’ by Joaquín Turina, ‘Matin & Soir’ by Mel Bonis, ‘Nocturnes’ by Mary Howe and Clara Schumann, and ‘L’Heure Espagnole’ by Ravel.

Following on, concerts for the remainder of 2026 will be: 5th November, What’s in a Name?; and 3rd December, Winter Landscapes.

Trio Paradis – Jacquelyn Bevan (piano), Ruth O’Shea (violin) and Linda Stocks (cello) – perform at Christ Church on first Thursdays as part of a programme of more than 120 daytime concerts held each year across Wiltshire and Somerset.

“Café Concerts CIO is a charity whose aim is to make live classical music accessible to a wider audience, particularly people who may find it difficult to attend evening performances,” says pianist Jacquelyn. “There’s a pop-up café open from 12.45pm where you can meet friends and make new ones over tea/coffee and home-made cakes, and then an informal 45-minute concert with music introduced by the performers.”

Concerts are offered on a pay-what-you-feel basis through a retiring collection to help keep live music affordable.
