Frome’s popular Food Feast returns this weekend as part of the Frome Festival with an array of street food, music and performance.
Taking place on Saturday 5th July, there will be food traders to suit every taste, including favourites Hakko House, Tibetan Memories, the Burger Bus and Palette & Pasture ice cream.
This year sees the addition of many traders new to the Food Feast, such as the Mediterranean Table, Mexican dishes from Miz’s Street Food and cakes by Delicious Miss Dahl, to name a few.
“We are particularly excited about the entertainment booked this year, who are all so good at what they do. I wouldn’t want to miss any of it,” said Frome Festival manager Sarah Swales.
To accompany the selection of food on offer, organisers say there is also a spectacular line-up of artists to perform at the feast including Nothing Rhymes with Orange, Buffalo Gals’ and Kaleida Wild.
Sarah said, “Nothing Rhymes with Orange is a fast-rising indie rock band producing anthemic originals packed full of blistering energy, urgent lyrics and propelling drums. With a core group of devoted teenage fans, they appeal to music lovers of any age. They are one to watch before they hit the big time and will end the Food Feast with a bang.”
If you missed out on tickets to the sold-out Buffalo Gals’ gig at The Tin Church during the festival, there is another chance to see them at the Food Feast. They play authentic Appalachian, bluegrass, blues and Cajun tunes with fiddle, banjo, percussive step dance (board dancing) and soaring harmonies.
“And the sensational Kaleida Wild are a collective blending influences, backgrounds and experiences to create captivating soul performances,” said Sarah.
In addition to bands on the stage, there will be a variety of performances in the arena, starting with Just4Fun, a large concert band from the Netherlands reimagining famous tunes for wind and brass; an appearance of the Sovereign Nature giant puppet and the return of SATCO, which wowed audiences with their comedy synchronised swimming and ballet routine last year.
The event is once again sponsored by Lilley’s Cider, which offers a wide variety of flavours in their on-site bar.
