Robin Lett smashed 169 to set Frome up for a massive 226 run victory at home to Middlezoy to continue their unbeaten start to the season.
Middlezoy won the toss and elected to field first and were soon to be put under pressure by openers Paul Sanger and Robin Lett. The pair brought up their second 50 partnership together within 10 overs but it was broken after a mix up resulted in Sanger being run out for 33 with the score on 67.
This brought Potter to the crease and Middlezoy once again struggled to contain the runs. They put on a massive 132 partnership for the 2nd which also saw Lett bring up his hundred as Potter was caught off the bowling of Buckler for 39.
Reece Croker joined Lett and this only increased the scoring rate. Croker smashed three huge sixes and then was joined by Lett who hit his first maximum of the innings to put on a quick fire 88 together, however Croker was also dismissed for 39 off Peppard. Lett soon followed as he was eventually bowled for an unbelievable 169.
Dan Dredge was the 5th man to go as Frome looked finish the innings strong, when Captain Mark Sanger decided to declare on 301-5 off 40. 1 overs.
In reply Middlezoy needed to get off to a solid start, however this wasn’t the case. A wicket each for opening bowlers Croker and Barton left the away side 13-2 and facing a massive uphill challenge.
Dillow and Bucker put up a mini fight back for the away team taking the score to 54 before Croker dismissed Buckler L.B.W for 19. This wicket started a batting collapse from Middlezoy.
Watts and Mark Sanger were brought into the attack with Watts bowling tight from his end and picking up two further wickets, it was left to Sanger to finish the job. Having only bowled one over, the Frome skipper took three wickets for just one run and the following over ran out Melmoth to finish Middlezoy off for just 75.
Next week Frome travel to Taunton Deane 2nd XI as they once again look to continue their unbeaten start to the 2017 season.
