This year’s Frome Active Sports Festival will take place on Sunday 10th April, from 10.00am – 2.00pm with free activities and sports on offer at Frome Football Club, Selwood School and Victoria Park.
Activities at Creative Aquatics and Divoky Riding school will also take place throughout the day.
There’ll be a range of taster sessions available to take part in for free. These will include:
Selwood School – Gymnastics, Beavers, judo, bikeability, netball, cricket, football, BMX. Please bring your bike.
Football Club – Martial arts/boxing, football, canoeing, and skittles
Aerobics – Kids Boogie Bounce at 12.30pm and Zumba at 1.15pm
Victoria Park – Martial arts, boxing, tennis, fencing, archery, rugby, climbing wall, walking football.
Creative Aquatic, Tytherington – Free family swims Saturday and Sunday 10.00am-2.00pm

Divoky Riding School, Manor Farm (BA4 4LG) – Taster sessions from 1.00pm to 4.30pm.
Pony rides for smaller children and tasters for older children and adults. Strict weight limit of 12st for beginners.

Knightstone will also be launching its ‘Creating Active Communities’ programme in Frome on the same day. The Creating Active Communities programme, which has received National Lottery funding from Sport England, helps people of all ages take part in fun and healthy activities.
Frome Active will also launch their voucher scheme funded by Comic Relief to offer free and subsidised taster sessions at local sports clubs to disadvantaged young people.
Knightstone Housing has joined Frome Active to organise the event.
Jane Edmonds, assistant director at Knightstone said, “Along with our partners, we’re making a real difference to participation in sports and activities across Somerset. Over the next 18 months, we’ll be working hard to ensure that communities in Frome have access to sport in their area.”
Frome Active’s Azeema Cafoor said, “We are delighted to include a new arm of the Sports Fest curated by Knightstone Housing in the Mary Bailey playing field this year, and hope that this will be the start of a good arrangement for years to come.”
All sessions are subject to availability and to change. Children remain the responsibility of their parents at all times.
