Frome Bridge Club celebrated its centenary on Saturday 27th September, with 50 club members and friends attending an afternoon of competitive bridge at the club’s headquarters in Wesley Methodist Church.
Players took a break partway through for celebratory cakes, tea and coffee. At the end of the event, the two winning pairs were Margaret Carr with Edith Cox, and Paul Fine with Steve Douglas.
Club secretary John Perry said he was delighted with the support from members, which helped ensure the smooth running of the event.
Frome Bridge Club was founded in 1925 as a ladies’ club at the Literary and Scientific Institute. One hundred years later, the club has grown to more than 100 members, with some playing up to three times a week.
