Residents and team members at a care home in Frome hosted their very own sports day event recently.
Care UK’s Rossetti House, on Welshmill Lane, hosted the event which included a range of classic and modern games including sticky darts, beanbag toss and an egg-and-spoon race.
Games were adapted to be fully inclusive, with team members, residents and families cheering each other on.
Resident Christine Cowley said, “It was tremendous fun. The wheelchair race was absolutely great. My daughter had great fun, and I was laughing all the way round. The staff were just brilliant, and my team won the cup.
Phil Vale, General Manager at Rossetti House, said, “After the exciting afternoon, sports day participants refuelled with delicious food and refreshing drinks prepared by the home’s head chef.
“Our sports day was a fantastic event with a great atmosphere. It was wonderful to see everyone having fun and enjoying a bit of healthy competition.

“Whether residents took part in the games or cheered on from the sidelines, activities like this are not only fun but also have great benefits; they can help to promote wellbeing, increase confidence and boost social interaction.”
