A FULL charity collection tin has been stolen from the Boots store in Frome town centre, leaving its Frome-based charity ‘saddened’ and ‘disappointed’.
Positive Action on Cancer (PAC) had its collection tin stolen over their Splash of Purple fundraising weekend at the beginning of March, and staff at the store reported that the tin was nearly full. The charity estimates that a full tin can hold up to £60 in cash, sometimes more.
Kelly Hall, PAC Fundraiser said “I was very saddened to hear about the theft of one of our tins. We have waited a few weeks before publishing this story in the hope that the tin was returned but have had no joy. The tough financial economic climate continues to affect our work and news like this is very disappointing”.
PAC is currently the only organisation to offer free, professional counselling to any adults or children affected or bereaved by cancer and other life threatening illnesses locally.
