AN aspiring Frome chef has reached the finals of the 2018 Julia Child Scholarship by Le Cordon Bleu.
Frome local, Zoey Conway, is just one of 16 candidates to make it to the final. Zoey said she was “absolutely thrilled” to hear that she was successful in reaching the final stage of the prestigious competition.
The Julia Child Scholarship by Le Cordon Bleu is aimed at those seeking to change career and pursue their true passion of working in the culinary industry.
It was launched in collaboration with renowned chef Monica Galetti, and offers one UK resident the opportunity to follow their culinary dream. The prize, worth well in excess of £45,000, will provide the winner with a place on the coveted Le Cordon Bleu Grand Diplôme®, an internship at Mere Restaurant under the guidance of Monica Galetti, as well as accommodation provided by luxury agency, Londonist.
The winner will also benefit from one-to-one mentorship sessions with some esteemed alumni including MasterChef The Professionals quarter-finalist, Luciana Berry; executive chef at Renaissance St Pancras, Adam Ashe; former pastry chef at The Fat Duck, Hideko Kawa; and chef patron of Bala Baya, Eran Tibi.
The final stage of the competition will take place this Wednesday, 6th June, at the prestigious culinary arts, wine and management school, Le Cordon Bleu London.
