Hundreds of families enjoyed the Frome Children’s Festival in Victoria Park and Mary Baily Field on Sunday 8th July.
‘Fab’ and ‘fantastic’ have been the words used in the positive feedback pouring in and with such a wide range of lovely activities, there was something for everyone’s taste; crafts, theatre shows, forest school, sensory tent, sports, dance, medieval games, singing and music, messy play and some great young performers.
The support workers from the charity KIDS, and the fast pass system for children with additional needs, enabled all families to enjoy the event and fully engage with activities. One parent said, “So much thought had gone into making it accessible and inclusive, we got to have a break while our daughter was entertained and she got to do the climbing wall for the first time.”
Luckily the shade of the trees, the huge marquee and the water fights provided relief from the heat! Local groups Fair Frome, OpenStoryTellers, Missing Links, ADD, Amnesty, FROGS, The Toy Library were also part of the event as well as their young trainees and volunteers.
Other comments included, “It was definitely one of the best kids’ festivals to date!’ ‘A stunning event’ ‘The best thing I have been to in Frome’
The organisers say, “We’d like to thank all our activity providers and volunteers, and in particular Hope, who looked after everyone with water and respite.
“The Children’s Festival was brought to you by Purple Elephant Productions and Young People Frome, with funding from the Big Lottery, Frome Town Council and local sponsors Sydenhams, Azimuth Marquees and Asda.
