THE community Christmas Get-Together is returning for an in-person festive lunch this year following a two-year break due to covid.
Organisers say, “For our 12th year of the community Christmas lunch we are heading back inside for an in-person lunch. The Frome Christmas Get-Together has provided community members both young and old with a chance to celebrate Christmas and enjoy a Christmas meal together.
“With Christmas being a difficult time for so many, we have helped bring some festive cheer, needed company and great food to our town. This year will be no different. With the cost-of-living crisis impacting our lives and community, for many this winter and Christmas period will be incredibly hard. We hope our Christmas Get-Together event this year will help make Christmas a special day for many.
“This year, after a two year break due to Covid-19 we will be returning to our in-person sit down lunch. This has always been a real celebration, an opportunity for both participants and volunteers to be part of a very festive day.
“We will be providing a traditional Christmas lunch for guests from our local community on Christmas Day. We will include some festive entertainment and activities for families, individuals and volunteers to collectively take part in. This year, we are focussing on making our Christmas event a welcoming and inclusive space for our Frome community.
“After listening to feedback from our guests we will be running three smaller satellite events on Christmas Day at Trinity Church Hall, The Cricket Club and The Key Centre. You have to reserve a space for Christmas Day – these can be made through local support groups, schools, activity groups like Active and In Touch, the doctors or via the library. Booking will open later in October.
