Frome Comic Con is coming to town and will be taking over no less than eighteen venues throughout Frome on August 14th.
Like any Comic Con there will be traders, exhibitors and guests, but the events and attractions have been spread out all over the town, with a map and handy guide to help you work out where you want to go next. Organisers have booked some high profile guest signers for the day and an artist hub to view comic art and meet illustrators. All visitors are encouraged to dress up, get in character to get an extra kick out of the day.
There will be guest appearances from actors and TV personalities such as Shaun Wallace from The Chase (Dark Destroyer). Ted Western from the original Star Wars. Peter Roy, the policeman from Dr Who as well as Star Wars. Clem So from Guardians of the Galaxy, 007 Spectre and Star Wars: Force Awakens. Miltos Yerolemou from Game of Thrones, Matthew Dale from Dr who, Nick Joseph from Star Wars and Steven Wickham from Dr Who and Red Dwarf.
There will be lots events throughout the day for comic fans of all ages, with many themes and areas for the whole family to enjoy including Batman, The Avengers, Star Wars, Dr Who and Harry Potter and lots, lots more.
The Wheatsheaves will be the Gaming Hub for the day with retro video games and multiplayer games plus your chance to enter competitions on the day to win consoles and other prizes. The Steiner Academy, The Assembly Rooms and The South Parade Club will all be trader venues where you can buy comics, movie memorabilia and much more, plus super hero appearances will be happening throughout the day.
For Star Wars lovers, head down to The Cordero Lounge to meet R2D2, Darth Vader, Storm Troopers and Jedis. Wizardry and puppetry will be taking place upstairs at The Three Swans, there is a Back To the Future inspired diner and The Silk Mill are hosting a Scare Tour at 4pm and Comic Con After Party from 8.30pm.
