AT their annual grant presentation evening on Thursday 9th May, the Trustees of the Frome Community Lottery gave out grants to 13 local organisations.
Together with the grants given in October 2012, this brings the total of grant funding to over £10,000 during the past year. Grants ranged from under £100 to over £1,200, funded completely by the proceeds of the Frome Lottery.
Organisations who benefited this year were the Merlin Theatre, the Frome Memorial Theatre, Black Swan Arts, the Cheese and Grain, Frome Museum, Frome Ladies Football Club, Frome Selwood Tennis Club, the Packsaddle Community Group, Edventure, Positive Action on Cancer, Harry’s Hydro, Toolshed and the Loop de Loop project.
Chair of the Trustees, Sue Worringham said, “It is great to see that we are able to support so many different projects aimed at improving facilities for the people of Frome and the local area.
“This year organisations involved in many different areas of community life, with very diverse projects, have been given grants. This has only been possible thanks to the continued support of the many local people who regularly play the Frome Lottery.”
Participants spend £1 a week with the chance of winning cash prizes of up to £25,000. Joining forms are available from the library or on the Trust’s website www.fromecomm unitytrust.btck. co.uk or by calling Sue on 462431.
