FROME has been awarded ‘Most Stylish Town in the UK’ by the independent boutique retailer, Trouva, who list the 10 most stylish neighbourhoods in the UK. In their ‘stylish living index,’ Frome was crowned the winner and was commended on its thriving independent scene.
The stylish living index incorporates both well-established and increasingly popular neighbourhoods for discerning homeowners and holidaymakers alike. In compiling the index, each area’s ‘buzzing high street scene, quantity of quality restaurants and number of unique, independent bars’ were taken into consideration, along with its ‘cultural and design-led hotspots’ such as museums and art galleries.
Trouva’s report states, ‘Frome in Somerset has topped the index thanks to its vibrant culture and thriving independent scene. A historic, charming market town situated in the Somerset countryside is home to 50 independent boutiques, an award-winning independent street market, and a night school showcasing the best independent craftspeople, designers and food traders.”
Lucy Ward, creative brand director at Trouva said, “It’s been interesting to reveal 2018’s most stylish neighbourhoods, whether highly esteemed or previously ‘undiscovered’.
“As well as embracing culture and the ever-evolving food scene, it’s important to celebrate the towns that are championing independents in the local community. We hope the index provides inspiration on alternative destinations to visit this year, whether it’s for a stylish holiday or to take up a more permanent residence.”
