Frome Probus is a club for retired professional and business men.
Apart from the monthly club meetings, we involve our ladies in all our activities and each summer we hold a ladies’ lunch in their honour. The 2018 lunch was held at the Standerwick Centre and was well attended by about 70 of us.
There was a talk given by Chris Gilburt of the Frome Town Archers. He talked about the history of archery in England, including of course Agincourt, and showed a collection of bows used from medieval times until today, including one developed for people with reduced muscle strength. The talk was warmly received and many questions were asked.
The 3 course lunch was provided by Standerwick’s new caterers, Mrs B’s Caring Catering, and was much enjoyed.. The photograph shows some of the ladies and gentlemen who attended.
