Frome Farmers’ Market has been joined on a regular basis by artist Josh from the Autistic Eye; a local not-for-profit social enterprise which promotes, publishes and sells work by artists with autism.
Joanne Hayers from Somerset Farmers’ Market said, “Josh has been selling at the market on and off for a few months now but we are hoping that he will regularly make use of the community stall at the market for the rest of the year. The tagline of the organisation is ‘seeing things differently’ and encourages people to look at the positive creativity which comes from the artists.
“Farmers’ Markets have always been at the heart of the community and provide a central location for friends, family and neighbours to come together, shop and meet up. The Cheese & Grain Hall is an ideal location for a market, being a historic market hall itself, it offers an indoor location out of the elements to take time to browse the local produce on offer, as well as the Cheese & Grain café for hot drinks and snacks. Not only does the market provide the staples of bread, vegetables, meat, fish and cheese but also a whole selection of other produce including oil & vinegar, cordials, cakes, pastries, preserves and more.”
