Thousands of people enjoyed this year’s ‘record-breaking’ Frome Festival, which saw over 280 events run in more than 50 venues in and around the town over 10 days.
From 5th to 13th July, Frome was filled with music, food, art, theatre, poetry, storytelling workshops and creative activities.
Top highlights included a headline show by Britpop icons Supergrass, who performed a sell-out performance at the Cheese and Grain in aid of local campaigners People for Packsaddle.
Other highlights included the Food Feast, which saw people pack out the Market Yard to enjoy a range of cuisines and live music; a showcase from Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club’s house band; evenings with leading comedians Lou Sanders and Andy Zaltzman and a wide range of music, including Guy Chambers, Gary Stringer from Reef, the Miki Berenyi Trio, Rokia Koné, and a one-off performance by Florence & The Machine’s harpist, Tom Moth.
The annual Hidden Gardens trail was also back, which saw keen gardeners open their green spaces for the community to peruse and enjoy whilst the sun shone.
This year’s festival also featured many new venues and events taking part for the first time, including Five Yard presents Alan Power and the Take Twos; music, wine and food events from Rye Bakery and Saddle Goose Winery at Station Approach; a DJ night and ‘Karenoke’ (comedy karaoke with a Karen) at The Tunnels; and the Brodsky Quartet in Chantry Church.
Festival director Adam Laughton said, “It has been a complete delight to see the town come to life across Frome Festival 2025. So many amazing creatives have brought colour and energy to every corner of Frome, filling venues and outdoor spaces with incredible arts activity.
“Frome Festival is a celebration of the amazing artistic community that calls this town home year-round – I urge everyone to continue to support this activity throughout the year to ensure Frome Festival can continue to be the amazing celebration that it is.
“Work has begun already on the 2026 Festival, where we will be celebrating 25 years of this programme – we’ve got some big ideas, so keep your eyes peeled with more details!”
