Frome’s popular Poetry Cafe is ending the year in party-style, with an all-open-mic event on Monday 9th of December, with gifts donated by Merlin Theatre and Hunting Raven Books, so six lucky readers will go home with book-y treats or pantomime tickets.
Organiser Crysse Morrison says, “We have had some terrific guests throughout this year, but the section of the evening when people get to read their own words is always so popular, and so full of great ideas, images, and memories, that I thought it would be fun to hand over the whole evening to our wonderful audience! This will mean more time for people to share more than one poem, and will be a chance to more fully appreciate the amazing talents in Frome and around.”
The Poetry Cafe is held at The Garden Cafe in Stony Street, starting promptly at 7.30pm and ending 9.30pm. Entry is £2 at the counter, and there will be mince pies and mulled drinks available.
