Frome Times is welcoming Frome.FM to its pages with a new fortnightly spotlight on your local community radio station.
Fancy being a radio presenter or a sound engineer? Have an idea for a show? Want to help shape the future of your community’s radio station? However you want your voice heard, Frome.FM is the place for you.
Broadcasting all day and every day on 96.6FM and online, Frome.FM offers a mix of news, music, talk, sport and education – anything and everything of interest to the Frome community. Each fortnight Frome Times will put the spotlight on one or more of the local presenters and their shows – and this week it’s the turn of Jeremy Westcott and his programme, Westcott’s World, pictured.
Jeremy is a Somerset lad who has lived around Frome for the past 20 years. Westcott’s World is an enjoyable mix of anecdotes and tales, humorous interludes from such luminaries as Alan Bennett and Bob Newhart and, as a staunch advocate of local enterprise, regular interviews with Frome-based businesses. Jeremy is so passionate about Frome.FM that even when he’s travelling he tries not to miss a show, and has been known to broadcast from the Isles of Scilly, Spain and even India and America! You can listen to Westcott’s World every other Wednesday between 12noon and 1pm.
Like everyone at Frome.FM, Jeremy is proud to be part of your community radio station and he wants everyone to get involved in whatever capacity they can. If you would like to do so as a volunteer working in broadcasting, sound engineering, advertising, marketing, IT or sponsorship then you can tweet them at @fromefm, email at hello@frome.fm or call in to the studio (don’t forget to arrange a meeting first) at the Town Hall, Christchurch Street West, Frome BA11 1EB.
