Members of Frome’s Good Afternoon Choir are looking forward to a very special concert on Saturday 2nd June.
The choir started in November last year and already has nearly 60 singers, who meet on Monday afternoons from 2-4pm at Holy Trinity Church, where their conductor is Matt Finch.
The Good Afternoon Choirs are a project from Bath’s Mr Music, Grenville Jones, and there are now eight groups across the region. They will all be heading for The Forum, Bath, in the centre of the city on Saturday 2nd June for a daytime Big Sing, followed by a very special concert in the evening.
Top of the bill will be the all-girl singing group, The Sundaes, who recently made a big impact on the BBC1 Saturday night show ‘All Together Now’ when one of the 100 judges was none other than Grenville Jones!
The Good Afternoon Choirs put the accent firmly on fun singing, with no auditions and a repertoire to suit all tastes. Matt Finch is the well-respected musical director of the Bath Light Operatic Group and many of the arrangements sung by the Frome GAC are originated specially for the choir by Matt.
Everyone is welcome to go along and find out more – there is no charge to try the choir at the first rehearsal at Holy Trinity on Monday afternoons and tickets are now on sale for the big concert on Saturday 2nd June, 7.30pm in The Forum, Bath.
