Frome in Bloom, like many other groups, has been dormant for two years, but has now sprouted from the ground and is really keen to get going again!
The Frome in Bloom competition is preparing to return this year, and they are encouraging the community to start thinking about which categories they want to enter.
The group say, “The competition this year involves everything we have done in other years. There are now 30 different categories to enter including home and community gardens, allotments, hanging baskets ,water features, children’s classes such as ‘the best sunflower’, also school classes. A new entry and trophy this year will be for a patio/courtyard garden.
“Entry forms will be available from March at Frome Library, Frome Town Hall , the Cheese and Grain, and from committee members.
“Frome in Bloom will be at Frome Horticultural Society Plant sale at Selwood Academy on 28th May where there will be free sunflower plants for the children’s competition for them to grow. Plenty of entry forms (free). Also many other plants for sale.
“So please start to think about what you will enter this year. We hope to make this a bumper year and look forward to seeing old friends and welcoming some new competitors too.
