The next Frome Independent will take place in Frome town centre on Sunday 4th October.
The organisers say, “The monthly social playground that we have come to know and love, but at its heart is the serious business of bringing together both fledgling designers and experienced makers in a monthly showcase of disciplines and materials.”
Over the last two years the market has become home to many of the region’s best craftspeople, designers, makers and creative retailers. Every month they grace the market with an array of ever-changing unique products but on October 4th you can come watch, learn and wonder at their skills and talents.
Retail therapy will be in abundance throughout the ‘Designer Maker’ and ‘Suitcase Sale’ sections, where traders from all walks of craft and design will be happy to talk to customers about their products and some will be sharing tips and skills from their stalls or in a special events area next to the pop-up village green.
All manner of demonstrations of traditional crafts and new techniques from blacksmithing, leatherwork, willow working, weaving, printing and much more will be on display.
Children will be able to get their hands dirty too, courtesy of a clay workshop with the Doodlebug Club and the stalwart team behind Donna Somerset will provide the vintage soundtrack.
Meanwhile, back in the Market Place, the stage will host yet another great line up of local and regional emerging musical talent and artisan food and street food traders will offer up seasonal and local foodie treats! A perfect Sunday!
