Frome Inner Wheel held a very successful cream tea and cakes afternoon in Chapmanslade Village Hall on the 12th May.
The Inner Wheel club reports, “The ladies of the international committee, led by Mary Darville and Renee Cole organised the event. Many, encouraged by the good weather enjoyed the opportunity to socialise and with constant chatter, the event was deemed a highly enjoyable afternoon whilst raising funds for the Mission 20:20, Restoring Dignity.
“This is a project set up by District 20 International Inner Wheel to send sustainable sanitary wear to disaster areas where ladies and girls, through no fault of their own, have lost everything due to flood, earthquake or any other natural disaster, and then their monthly period begins.
“By supplying the sustainable sanitary goods to existing charities Water Survival Boxes, School in a Bag and Akamba Aid, the network for distribution is already established and the three charities were happy to embrace the idea and include items in their shipments.”
