THIRTEEN teams took part in the first Frome Lions quiz night of the new season held at Frome Rugby Club on 6th October.
The teams answered a serious of questions on varying subjects which included History, Geography, sport and Great Britain.
Not a lot of them knew that in which sport do you hit a hard solid sphere slightly larger than a tennis ball called sliotar? Answer hurling.
The winning team comprising of Philip, June and Bob Ashworth along with Jeremy Clatworthy scored a magnificent 99 points out of a possible 110. They were also successful in winning the picture quiz and correctly identified 26 of the 30 pictures
Runners-up in the main quiz was the team of Mike Shorey, Sue Chinnock and Ruth Sharpe who finished up just 3 points behind the winners with a score of 96 points.
The Lions are extremely grateful to the winning team who generously donated their prize money to the Lions charity fund.
The Lions’ next quiz takes place at the Rugby Club on the 10th November starting at 8.00pm.
