The Lions Club of Frome is again placing a Tree of Remembrance in front of Rook Lane Chapel at the top of Bath Street, Frome.
This tree will enable people to remember a loved one or cause by sponsoring one or more lights in their memory. The names of which will be displayed near on the notice board by the tree. Funds raised at the same time will then go to the Lions Club Charity Trust, for needy causes in the local area.
The Lions are hoping that any expenses will be met by business sponsorship. Longleat Forestry is kindly donating the tree used. Also architects Nugent, Vallis & Brierly (NVB) have kindly offered the use of the site and generously the cost of electricity for the lights.
There will be a switching on of lights and blessing ceremony, on Thursday 27th November at 6.15pm led by the Reverent Colin Horn. Frome Town Youth Band will be providing the music to sing some well know traditional carols and afterwards warm mulled wine and mince pies will be served by the Lions.
Last year there were over 200 remembrances which, in turn raised £1,100.
