FROME Community Lottery was delighted to again hold a Presentation Evening in person to give out grants of over £5,000 to local community organisations.
Nine organisations received grants which ranged from £300 to over £1,000 – Phoenix House Social Club, the Memorial Theatre, WHY, Frome Tennis Club, Frome Swimming Club, Active and in Touch, Fair Frome, the Pod and the Frome Festival.
Grant funding comes entirely from the proceeds of the Frome Lottery. Participants spend £1 a week with the chance of winning cash prizes of up to £25,000. Of this 50% is available to support community groups in the Frome area. In the last year many people in Frome have won prizes. Joining forms are available from Frome library and other places in Frome, or on the Trust’s website https://frome communitylottery.org.uk/ or by calling Sue on 01373 462431
Sue Worringham, Trustee of the Lottery, said, “We are always impressed by the range of activities going on in Frome and by the huge range of organisations working to improve facilities for the people of Frome and the villages around.
“This year’s grants covered many aspects of Frome life, and ages. It would be great if we were able to give grants to even more local organisations. They all do such excellent work towards making Frome such a good place to live. This will only be possible if more local people join the Lottery, so please consider joining, knowing that half of what you pay weekly comes directly back to Frome groups. You might even win some prizes!”
The presentation evening was held at Phoenix House.
