A new social weekly cafe aimed at reducing loneliness was visited by the town’s mayor recently.
Chatty Cafe launched in October at Cordero Lounge and is a not-for-profit organisation aimed at tackling loneliness by encouraging residents to pop along and meet others and stay for as long as they feel comfortable.
A member of Chatty Cafe, Ryan Atkins, said, “To have the Mayor of Frome come and visit us was amazing; he came along and had a chat with us. He is very friendly and also took some business cards to pass onto others. We hope Andy enjoyed his visit with us.”
During the mayor’s visit the group also marked Halloween, when they were joined by Cordero the Friendly Ghost.
Chatty Cafe runs on a Wednesday from 9.30am to 11.30am, at Cordero Lounge in the Westway Precinct.
