THE team at Frome Medical Practice has organised events as part of this year’s Frome Kindness Festival, which runs from Saturday 15th March to Saturday 22nd March.
Managing partner at Frome Medical Practice, Karen Creffield, said, “One of our aims is to be a ‘kind’ organisation, where we care for each other and the world around us in responsible and sustainable ways. So, we are always thrilled to be able to celebrate kindness during the festival week and invite local people to join in with our events.”
Here’s what the practice has planned during the Kindness Festival.
All week
InTouch Cafe, Frome Medical Centre
The practice will be encouraging visitors to the building to ‘Share Kindness’ during the festival week. Take an extra moment during your visit, pop into the InTouch Cafe and pick up a Kindness Postcard. Share a heartfelt message to someone special or show appreciation for Frome’s many local superheroes.
Talking Kindness Cafe at the Cheese and Grain
Monday 17th March, from 10am to 11.30am.
Talking Kindness Cafe at Coffee #1 Westway Precinct
Thursday 20th March, from 1pm to 2.30pm.
A spokesperson for the medical practice said, “Join your GP practice social prescribing and health coaching team at the Talking Kindness Cafe, where we’ll be waving the flag to our local community kindness heroes! We can also let you know about activities, support groups and services you might be interested in that are available locally.”
Green Board Games afternoon at the InTouch Cafe at the practice
Monday 17th March from 1pm to 3pm.
The spokesperson said, “Our Green Connectors will be hosting this event, and through the playing of board games which are designed to spark conversation and inspire action, we can see how small acts of kindness can make a big difference for our planet. Enjoy a special hot drink and cake offer from the cafe while you play.”
Health Walk: meet at the front of Frome Medical Practice
Wednesday 19th March 9.15am for a 9.30am start.
The spokesperson said, “All are welcome to join this walk from the practice, which will last 30 to 40 minutes and is for all ages and abilities. Come together, share kindness stories and meet your local kindness heroes! There will be a hot drink and cake offer available at the InTouch Cafe after the walk.”
Planning For Future Care and End of Life Needs workshop
Wednesday 19th March from 2pm to 3.30pm.
Taking place at the practice, this free workshop is led by Julia di Castiglione and Dr Helen Kingston. It explores planning for you or a loved one’s future care, considering topics such as creating a will and lasting powers of attorney.
