HELLO! magazine, to celebrate Mother’s Day, is searching for a Star Mum, nominated by the public and Frome mum, Lisa Wells, has been shortlisted into the final five.
An all-celebrity judging panel of Binky Felstead, Kimberley Walsh, Kate Silverton, Izzy Judd and Anna Whitehouse, also known as the popular mummy blogger, Mother Pukka, have sifted through all the entries choosing Lisa as one of the deserving finalists, in with a chance of receiving this award.
The winning star mum will be treated to an overnight stay for two at The Dorchester, and will be given a lavish makeover, courtesy of Blow Ltd, as well as a complimentary outfit of her choosing from Next and a bottle of champagne to take home.
Lisa has terminal liver and bowel cancer, diagnosed shortly after giving birth to her second daughter. Lisa is mum to Ava Lily, 5, and Saffia who is only a few months old. She has been given 2-12 months to live, yet hasn’t let this stop her from fundraising to leave behind a legacy for her daughters and spread awareness of her condition.
During a video Lisa posted on her ‘Lisa’s Army’ Facebook page she said, “I love the fact I am nominated for HELLO!’s mum award, that is pretty something. This whole journey is pretty something actually. In less than 3 months look at what has happened. I’ve got such an amazing support network, it’s just brilliant.”
Lisa told the Frome Times, “I’m honoured and humbled to be shortlisted for HELLO! magazine’s Star Mum of the Year. I hope my girls will be proud in years to come. Thanks to everyone that is voting for me!”

The winner will be announced at a special prize-giving lunch, hosted by HELLO! editor-in-chief, Rosie Nixon, and broadcaster Kate Silverton, at London’s exclusive hotel The Dorchester on Thursday 8th March.
At the time of writing, Lisa’s donation page has smashed her £15,000 target and is currently on £36,204. Recently, a Family Fun Day in her name was held and a Mother’s Day walk is scheduled for Sunday 11th March.
