FROME musician, Eddie Martin, has been presented with the European Blues Award for Best Solo Artist 2018 by top sax player Iain Ballamy.
Multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Eddie Martin received the most votes across Europe to win the Solo (Acoustic) Artist Award 2018. Now in their 38th year the European Blues Awards are the longest running and biggest Blues Music accolade outside the USA. Purely decided by public vote, other EBA winners included Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones with a Lifetime Contribution Award and Cerys Mathews for her Blues Radio Show on Radio 2.
After the presentation at The Bell Inn, as part of the Bath fringe Festival, Eddie’s regular ‘First Friday Blues’ show featured sets from the award winner and guests Bluesman Mike Francis and Marcus Clements.
“It has been great to receive this recognition. I want to thank all those who have supported my music nationally and internationally over the years and especially those who voted,” said Eddie.
Eddie will be releasing his 17th album of original music at venues around Europe from September this year. Further information: Eddie Martin 07974 120418 or www.eddiemartin.com.
