Frome Stars vs Uni of Bath 2
The penultimate game of the season. Still sitting top of the league, still undefeated….
Up against the youthful Bath 2’s team we stepped onto the court with one part confidence one part trepidation. We’re so close to ending this season on a high, but you can never get complacent…
Some slick attacking play, with some divine feeds from WA Laura into the waiting arms of our shooters and some excellent pressure from defence ensured that crucial turnover.
Some strategic changes in the defensive circle each quarter allowed us to stay fresh, never letting the opposing shooters get into a flow.
Consistency and drive dipped a few times and Bath certainly put us through our paces, with the score always seeming closer than it was!
Going into the final quarter eight goals up saw Chloe join the shooting circle. Defence plus C Hannah worked hard to block GA from entering the shooting circle putting huge pressure on their attack and creating opportunity to regain possession.
The closing score was Frome Stars 31 – Bath 2 – 22.
