After completing a successful Summer League programme where Frome Stars ran out winners without losing a match, all three teams are now geared up to the forthcoming winter League in Devizes.
Tracey Carter secured the Player of the Match award having received the most nominations and her daughter Ellie picked up the Players’ Player award in the Summer League.
With selection having been done before the Summer league, players have been practising with their new combinations and the coaches are working them hard in preparation for the matches to come. Stars finished second in the Prem League last season and will be looking to go one better this year and compete for a regional spot. Coach Clark has picked a squad of eleven players and they are all fit and raring to go.
Diamonds finished third in the First Division and will be looking to improve on that with a view to gaining promotion to the Prem League. They have a completely different squad from last year but have bonded well over the summer.
Hearts gained promotion last season and will be looking to consolidate a place in Division Two as they again have a new line up.
Frome Netball Club is running a charity tournament on September 15 at Oakfield School from 10am-4pm where they are raising funds towards Lisa’s Army, Marching on Cancer. This is a fun tournament but also a family day out and there will be a bar-b-que, cake stall and other attractions so if you fancy helping out in any way please email fromenetballclub@hotmail.com. We have had lots of entries so it should be good fun to watch and hopefully we can raise a significant amount of monies.
