A group of local parents have decided to support Frome based charity Positive Action on Cancer by holding a Madhatter’s Tea Party on Sunday 22nd March.
Frome Newbies was set up in 2013 by a small group of mums new to Frome, looking to make new friends and share their experiences of the town. Since then it has grown to over 200 members on its closed Facebook group, with many of its members meeting at least once a month at open house events or local parks and soft play centres.
One of the organisers Claire Schneider said, “I read about PAC holding a series of Mad March events on Facebook and thought it would be an excellent opportunity to get Frome parents both new and more established together, have fun and raise money for a worthwhile local charity at the same time. Everyone is welcome!”
The Newbies have a variety of fun, family activities planned for the open invite party to be held at St Catharines church Hall, between 2.30-5.00pm including a Wonderland themed ‘bake off’ style cake competition and raffle, fancy dress and mad hats are welcomed but not essential.
Assistant fundraiser for PAC Helen Sprawson-White said, “I am amazed at the efforts that this group of relatively new Fromies have gone to in order to support us in Mad March. This event promises to be great fun for all the family! It has been truly humbling to see so many local people choosing to come and join the fundraising Madness!”
