FROME Park Men’s team have won the Mid Somerset League Division 2 South after a 82 shot to 75 win against Prattens on 31st July.
This will now promote them into Division 1 for the 2014 season. Best winning rinks were P. Wheeler, N. Seviour, D. Whitehead, P. Mitchard 22-13 and T. Drew, M. Cooper, J. Curtis, J. Pritchard 24-17.
In the Mixed MSL Frome Park beat the Isle of Wedmore on 2nd August by 61 shots to 43 and 10 point to 2. Best rinks were: M. Drew, K. Gregory, J. Curtis, S. West 23-11 and G. Lee, T. Lake, J.V Curtis ands T. Elms 23-16.
In the County League Frome Parks ‘A’ team were away to Norwest ‘A’ on 3rd August in very difficult weather conditions. The game was drawn at 61 shots and 6 points each. This still leaves Frome at the top of East Division 1 with just three games to play. Best rinks were W. Pitts, D. Whitehead, C. Henning, N. Hunt 28-13 and T. Elms, J. Vince, J. Curtis, J. Pritchard 23-23.
The ‘B’ team match was called off due to the green being flooded against Weston Bath ‘C’.
The Ladies took a good victory against Bath Ladies on 30th July with a 53 shot to 33 win. Best rink with 32-12 were C. Hallam, V. Lake, V. Church and J. Bartlett.
In the Wild League the Ladies were away to Norwest on 4th August, but just missed out in a very close match at 33 to 28 shots. Best rink at 12-6 were C. Hallam, JV Curtis and M. Jennings.
