The Frome Police Enquiry Office has closed ahead of its relocation to a new site at Wessex Fields Retail Park, where it will re-open on 1st September.
The office, previously based in Frome Library on Justice Lane, closed on Monday 11th August and will move into Enterprise House in Wessex Fields – the same building as Frome Police Station.
Chief Inspector Andrew Pritchard said the move will give the local police ‘better connectivity’ between enquiry officers and the neighbourhood policing team, which “will in turn improve the service we provide for the public”.
“Police presence in Frome town centre will not be impacted by this move and officer numbers and patrols will remain the same,” he added.
Until the new office opens, the nearest alternatives are: Shepton Mallet, Haskins Retail Park, BA4 5SB; Radstock, Wells Road, BA3 3SG; and Bath, One Stop Shop, Manvers Street, BA1 1JQ.
