Frome residents are preparing to take on the London Marathon, running 26 miles across the city to raise funds for various charities.
Callum Green, Rose Hiron-Grimes, Keinan Cooper and Anna Cooper are among the residents who have been fundraising and training for the gruelling challenge taking place on 26th April.
Callum Green is raising funds for The Lullaby Trust, an infant support charity working to prevent unexpected deaths in infancy and support infant health; Rose Hiron-Grimes and Keinan Cooper, a mother and son duo, are running to raise funds for We Hear You (WHY) to support the cancer counselling charity’s urgent fundraising appeal; and Anna Cooper is running for Mind, in memory of her 22-year-old friend Teilo How, who died by suicide.
Anna Cooper, who is a practice manager at Eyetech Opticians, said, “This will be one of the biggest challenges of my life, but I think of Teilo all the time when I’m running and that keeps me going. If I can turn this effort into something positive – into hope, help and change – then every step will be worth it.”

Rose Hiron-Grimes and Keinan Cooper have been raising money for WHY to help prevent the charity from closing after it launched an urgent appeal in January. Keinan said, “I’ve only been running since the beginning of 2025 but decided I wanted to lose weight. After signing up for the Bath Half Marathon to raise money for WHY, I decided to push myself even further. I’ve never run a marathon before and not sure I will after but it’s a challenge I really wanted to take on to support this local charity and the amazing work they do.”
Callum Green, who has been training around Frome and completing his longest runs in various places across America, said, “I have run a half marathon before but never a marathon. After all the training I now feel ready. It has been challenging but I have loved enjoyed it and can’t wait until the event. The Lullaby Trust does such vital work through giving expert baby safety advice and bereavement support, they need all the help they can get.”
