The Rotary Club of Frome’s annual Young Musician of the Year Competition is almost upon us.
“This year we are holding the event at Selwood Academy by kind permission of Mrs Jean Hopegood on Friday 13th November at 6.00pm,” said Humphrey Barnes, one of the organisers.
“The competition is open to any young student between the age of 11 to 17 years of age by 31st August 2015, living in Frome and the surrounding area, or any young musician/vocalist up to the age of 11 years to also perform, but not for competition; a section we included last year which proved very successful.
“We again are looking for an instrumental and vocal soloist to go forward to the next round of the competition to be held on Sunday 28th February 2016. All competitors will perform in front of qualified adjudicators and we encourage parents and friends to attend.”
